Today, the much-loved, upscale Indian restaurant Devi reopens. It's a happy ending to a rocky tale, as the chefs were able to buy out the restaurant after the owner closed it down. Last week at a friends and family night, the kitchen was in fine form and the restaurant--with its stately balcony and gem-colored ceiling lanterns--was as lovely as ever. An extra incentive to go celebrate the restaurant's victory: Dinners will be 20 percent off through Nov. 20.
