Rohm: The Flatiron Gets Another Thai Option

Rohm_3 Surprisingly, the Flatiron District doesn't have much in the way of Thai options, but it just got one more with Rohm. The menu covers the basics, with many curry and noodle dishes in the $9-$12 range, while signature dishes include a boneless honey duck. Best of all: Nothing on the lunch menu tops $10, and all choices include a soup or salad.

Amazing food, great scene. Must try.

Best pad thai in the city!

Hands down my favorite new thai restaurant - everything was absolutely amazing!!

The space is inviting, food is delicious and the service attentive.

The food is great and the space is gorgeous. The best Thai food in the city... their presentation brings it all to a new level!

This is by far the best thai food that I've had in the city. It's a chic great place to bring a group of friends. I highly recommend the beef basil and duck salad.

i think the chef from Planet Thailand in Brooklyn left there to start up at Rohm. it's good to have him in Manhattan. I like what they are doing with the signature dishes. It's not often you can get really unique Thai dishes that one restaurant can claim to fame. Rohm really has that going for them. I loved the AppleKiwi Seafood special, and their Honey Duck was sensational.

Best Thai in the city.

this place was so delicious! it's beautiful but the pricing is so reasonable. the quality of the food far exceeds the cost, I highly recommend going

Rohm is the reincarnation of Bangkok Cafe, the Thai restaurant that inhabited this space for many years. The place closed temporarily in October 2007 for a renovation and reopened just before the end of the year. I don't know if the kitchen staff changed, but I doubt it: the menu and the food remain essentially the same as when it was Bangkok Cafe. The quality is high, the portions are fair and the price is very affordable. I give them credit for keeping the prices on the low side, despite what appears to have been a rather extensive (and I imagine costly) renovation.

On the downside: delivery is slow (I work two blocks away and order between 2 and 2:30 -- not peak hours), and on two occasions the delivery people were unable to make change and did not understand that I wanted change from my $20. Take out is iffy: I've had fast service and, just yesterday, extremely slow service: 20 minutes. A woman who had been waiting ahead of me left before her order was ready, as she had gotten tired of waiting.

Overall, I would give Rohm a good rating. The food remains very good, and the prices are reasonable. They need to improve their ability to handle a medium-sized rush. Hopefully, they'll hit their stride soon.
