Delicious Dish: Escargot Persillade at Bar Boulud

Everyone is agog over the charcuterie at Bar Boulud, and with good reason. I was most enamored, however, of these escargots persillades, and not only for their pretty presentation. The tender, juicy snails are bathed in a blessedly un-oily garlic and parsley sauce. Stuffing one inside an accompanying potato croquette brings on one bewilderingly blissful bite.

Kicking myself for not trying these the night I was there--but the charcuterie was indeed fantastic. Sweetening the deal: Sitting at the booth next to us was Jessica Lange, looking lovely as ever.

The place will be out of business in a year. Pushed around while waiting for our reservation. There is no where to wait or have a drink in the entire place - absolutely rude. How was the food? I can't even remember the meal - it was that mediocre.
Don't waste your time!
