Early Report: I Sodi

Popped in for a glass of wine and a bite at newcomer I Sodi last night. Though the Village needs another Italian restaurant like a pothole in the ground, I liked the looks of the menu (salt-baked branzino; artichoke lasagna; fried rabbit). I took a seat at the long wood-and-granite bar, which has a pleasant white marble backdrop. The slim aisle between the bar and tables, however, made for constant bumping and jostling from behind. More so than my seat, though, I was disappointed with the sodden, over-salted pile of fried artichokes that I had ordered--and this comes from a girl who loves her NaCl. I'll return, though, to give the pastas, which looked great, a chance, and to find out what the heck "salame dolce," apparently a "chocolate sausage," might be. Next time, however, I'll sit at a table.
