This week our critics give the lowdown on two new spots. First up is Toloache, a high-end Mexican cantina in the Theater District. Brisket braised in Negra Modelo? Sign me up. Also, note the gorgeous balcony in the picture above, where it's hard not to imagine Mexican versions of "The Muppet Show"'s Statler and Waldorf cracking jokes (OK, maybe that's just me). If you're one of those brave sorts who's dying to try the much-hyped grasshopper tacos, be sure to read our tip first. Next, we take a look at Focolare, a newcomer to Little Italy. Does it challenge the bland hegemony of the nabe's red-sauce joints? Check out our list of new and notable restaurants to find out.
