DIY Is the New Hotness

Warsawcraftacular
The majority of my Saturday was spent traipsing around Brooklyn attending holiday parties, but I did manage to squeeze in some DIY appreciation by attending Bust Magazine's Craftacular in Greenpoint. I arrived at 6pm to a packed Warsaw with customers shopping, sipping on cocktails, eating perigees and dancing DJ-provided tunes. Crafty vendors arrived from all over the country from Montreal to Boston to New York, selling holiday gifts, cards, vintage fashion, knitted goods, chocolate and jewelry.

The talented designers were charming and stole the hearts of many of the customers, but these three designers made me weep from DIY love: Dana De Kuyper from Montreal and her lovely but tragic Damned Dollies collection, Jonelle Maira's tough yet elegant Poison Apple jewelry and Giant Dwarf's exquisite hats made from recycled sweaters.
