Can't wait till New York Fashion Week in September? This Friday marks the second annual, New York Pet Fashion Week and not only will the latest in pooch fashion be shown, but owners may also have matching wardrobes. This year the Metropolitan Pavilion will host the more than 100 pet retailers and designers targeting the couture canine. Besides fashion and accessories, the show will also feature doggie favorites such as toys, grooming products, fragrances and treats. Some New York exhibitors include treats from Dogchewz, fashionable onezies from Fab Dog and designer carriers from EMRE. The week kicks off with a fashion party on Friday night followed by the trade show opened to qualified buyers on Saturday and Sunday. The pow-wow owner and pet fashion show will be Saturday night preceded by a day of industry symposiums on "luxury branding" and the "dos and don'ts of public relations."
