Fashion and Wes Anderson

Wes Anderson's carefully created tableaus define his movies' style, so it would make sense that he would spend plenty of time worrying about his actors' clothing. In his latest feature "The Darjeeling Limited," he even went so far as to hire Marc Jacobs to design the brothers' luggage as well as outfit all three main stars (Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman) in Louis Vuitton. [Check out the NY Observer interview with Jacobs.]
The movie itself is less stylized than his last film, "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," and maintains a kind of cheeky, retro charm. It is, alas, no "Rushmore," which happens to be playing during midnight showings at the Landmark Sunshine this weekend, but is still worth a viewing, at least for the stunning scenery and costume design.
From Steve Zissou's Adidas kicks to Luke Wilson's headband/sunglass combo in "The Royal Tenenbaums," Anderson’s characters have always shown plenty of quirky style. A look back ...
Max Fischer: My top schools where I want to apply to are Oxford and the Sorbonne. My safety's Harvard.
Steve Zissou: Don't point that gun at him, he's an unpaid intern.
Richie: I wrote a suicide note.
Chas: You did?
Richie: Yeah, right after I regained consciousness.
Chas: Well what does it say? Is it dark?
Richie: Of course it's dark, it's a suicide note.
Chas: Can I read it?
Richie: No.
Chas: Well could you at least summarize it for us?

Chas said, "Well, can you at least paraphrase it for us?", not summarize. The only reason I remember that is because I thought it was funny he said paraphrase. That, and the fact that I randomly watched it last night. :)
