The much anticipated collection by Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony was unveiled last week, and I wonder why there is hardly any coverage on the show? With big dogs like WWD and Vogue UK spreading the news of the celeb-boutique collaboration, along with New York's love for Opening Ceremony and Chloe's stylish fashion reputation, you'd think that reactions on the stellar combo would be splattered all over the internet. Despite the positive following by Paper Magazine and the "Ugly Works" reaction by blogger StyleBubble, I'm still contemplating whether or not the Chloe collection will fail. The pieces reminded me of dresses waitresses would wear at roadside diners, of ensembles Chloe's character would wear on Big Love, or even of teenage fashion from John Hughes movies of the 80s. What do you think of the collection?

Timgunn Ever wonder where the crown-prince of fashion hangs out in New York? Tim Gunn told Citysearch four of his favorite spots, the biggest surprise being ... wait for it ... Banana Republic. Yes, Tim Gunn lives in New York and shops at Banana Republic. Granted, it is the Banana Republic where all the hot guys hang out, but they are still all wearing off-the-rack fashions. Where is the needling, demanding couture fashion icon when you want him? Oh, and it looks like he can't help but carry his Parson's school pin around in his pocket.

Celeb-Rated: The Fug Girls

FuggirlsWe at Fashion Geek love Go Fug Yourself and think the girls behind the site are quite brilliant, and thank them profusely for brightening our days with a little snark. So we were especially intrigued to know where, exactly, these fabulous ladies hang out. A lot of their favorites, as told to Citysearch, are in L.A., but many of those L.A. places also exist in the good old NYC: Anthropologie, Nanette Lepore, Flight 001 (we've got TWO of them, take that L.A.!). Bizarrely enough, they name Michael Jordan's Steakhouse as their only New York-based favorite, although they do clarify it's just for the hotties at the bar. See the Fug Girls entire list of favorites.

Website-developer-turned-fashion-designer Stacey Bendet first gained fame for designing a wildly popular line of stylish, flattering pants, which earned her the nickname "Staceypants." She recently opened a third boutique across the street from Bryant Park, the others being located in Los Angeles and East Hampton. The energetic, fast-talking Ms. Bendet gabbed to Citysearch about her favorite places to shop and eat in New York, including some great vintage shops like David Owens Vintage Clothing and Edith Machinist. Check out all of Stacey Bendet's favorites here.

C_waldronNew boutiques seem to be constantly opening in Williamsburg, and Jumelle was the best one to open in 2006. Carrying brands like 3.1 Phillip Lim, Grey Ant, Mociun, Mint and more, the small boutique on Bedford Avenue has become a staple for Brooklyn fashionistas. Owner Candice Waldron, an Emmy-nominated TV journalist and producer who has worked at ABC News, NBC News, CNN and PBS, recently shared her favorite spots in the city with us. She gives Brooklyn lots of love, frequenting Gorilla Coffee and BAM Rose Cinemas. Check out the entire list of Candice Waldron's favorites here.

Golden Globes 2007

First of all, Yay for Ugly Betty! Despite the fact that the Golden Globes are usually a tad boring--no entertainment acts, no making fun of other celebrities (except JT's "not so funny" impersonation of Prince)--the celebs were looking good and presented a series of questions such as: How did Reese Witherspoon shave off 20 years to look 13? Is Heidi Klum pregnant, AGAIN?, and I wonder what kind of bronzer Beyoncé uses?

My top three fashionable divas: Naomi Watts in Gucci, Renée Zellweger in vintage Dior, and I gotta give props to America Ferrera who was wearing a Brian Reyes dress. She plays a supposedly style-less nerd working at a fashion magazine, who cannot love her?

My bottom three: Sienna Miller, what was up with the braid? And JLo and Vanessa Williams, with the not-so-hot hair. Got your own top and bottom three? Share them with us.

Friday Fives

by Yer Vang

In between detoxing and re-gifting your unwanted holiday presents this weekend, get on out to experience some of these fashionable New York offerings.

1. If you haven't seen the New York Public Library exhibition, A Rakish History of Men's Wear, it's time to experience a survey of men's style shown at the Humanities and Social Sciences Library, on now through April.

2. Ever wonder what would happen to your wardrobe if you only had a million dollars? Now is your chance to win the cash and star in the new NBC game show, Fortune. Run over to Park Central New York today for the open call audition from 9am to 6pm.

3. And if you're still nursing the hangover from New Year's Eve, stay indoors this weekend and tune into the live webcast of sold-out panel discussions during the New York Times Arts and Leisure Weekend. Artists, celebrities and media folk such as Hannah Montana, James Taylor, Kara Walker and J.J. Abrams will be interviewed.

4. It's always a battle when two museums offer superb late-night events, including music, food and film in the same weekend. You could easily settle the rivalry by attending both nights: Check out Starry Night at the American Museum of Natural History on this, and every, first Friday, and Target First Saturdays at the Brooklyn Museum of Art on this, and every, first Saturday.

5. With a record high of 67 degrees on Saturday, you really have no excuse not to lug your Christmas tree to Central Park and recycle it in the annual Mulch Fest.

Tricia Romano Dishes

by Katie Heffernan

Triciaromanobynikolatamindzic225It may surprise you to learn that Tricia Romano doesn't have much of a "Fly Life" on her off nights. In fact, the club-hopping Village Voice writer keeps such a low profile close to home in Alphabet City that she's become a darn good expert on the neighborhood.

During daylight, you may spot Romano "stalking the purses" at knick-knacky shop Exit 9 or getting her nails done at the "cute little salon" on 4th Street, Go Girl. Thought you'd never find a decent burrito in the city? She's uncovered authentic West Coast Mexican at Downtown Bakery II. And if you're in the mood for a little "'Blade Runner' atmosphere," she's digs the lychee martinis at Decibel.

Read on for more of Tricia Romano's East Village favorites.
