Too Much Information: A Special Treat from a Starbucks Barista

A New York tipster sent us this photo of the lovely and informative message she discovered scrawled on the bottom of her coffee cup (from a Chicago Starbucks) earlier today. No wonder Starbucks is one of the best companies to work for in the entire United States: Underwear is optional, and the baristas have lots of free time. Y'know, for writing dirty messages on the bottom of my Venti half-caff and what not.

Hi! It was my cup. At first, I was all naive, thinking maybe this barista wanted to flirt with me. Then I realized that their intent may have been a little more malicious - to embarrass me as I walked around drinking the coffee, lifting the cup and unintentionally showing this little message to strangers walking past. The coffee cup equivalment of a "Kick Me" sign, basically! I can take a joke but this is sort of ridiculous. :) I'm just glad I didn't take it into a meeting.

It's funny.
It's possible you weren't singled out as a target, someone might have written that on the cup hours before and tucked it away in the middle of the stack. You were just the lucky one that came at the right time.
Or maybe you had it coming.

I'm a barista at Starbucks and I do this all the time. It's just a fun joke. NOTHING serious. Sometimes I draw pictures and other times massages. Just like to keep things fun and interesting. :)
