Another One Bites The Dust: Gin Lane

We can't confirm this with 100% certainty, but it looks like Gin Lane--the bar that was once home to popular dive the Village Idiot--has finally closed its doors after a tumultuous ride on West 14th Street and most of its short life spent on Eater's fateful deathwatch list. As of last Friday circa 6pm, the curtains were drawn and the little "Gin Lane" plaque outside had been removed. This morning, the website is offline, and phone calls were met with a recording that stated, "Your party is unavailable" (though the number has not been disconnected. Yet).

Maybe Tommy will return the Village Idiot to that space. He made more in one night than Gin Lane made in a week.
